Dirk McCoy is the founder and President of mbarq technologies.  Dirk was previously co-founder and President of Hytel Group, Inc., an Electronics Manufacturing Services provider with two facilities in Illinois and a subsidiary in Beijing, where he led growth from 16 initial employees to 140 in Illinois and 200 total, providing ISO9001-registered manufacturing of precision components and subsystems for customers including AT&T, GE, GM, Molex, Motorola, Etymotic Research, ITW, Northrop-Grumman, and L3, among others.   These products are used in internet, police, fire, automotive, heavy-equipment, hearing, aerospace/space, and security systems around the world.  

Hytel Group was named by Deloitte and Touche to the Chicagoland Technology Fast 50 three times, and won two Team Excellence Quality Awards from the Illinois Manufacturer's Association.  Prior to founding Hytel Group in 1992, Dirk held engineering and marketing management positions at AG Communication Systems (an AT&T-GTE Joint Venture) and at GTE Communication Systems. 

Dirk has spoken at numerous regional and national symposia on topics including FMEA, capital equipment sourcing, business development in the global environment, and market and career development.  He served as a judge for the IMA Team Excellence Quality Award competition, and holds two patents.  Dirk has an MBA from Northwestern University- Kellogg School of Management and a B.S in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois- Champaign.
